Sen. Ibrahim Shekarau, the former governor of Kano State, has rejoined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he was warmly received by the party’s candidate for the presidency in 2023. Atiku Abubakar.
This occurred on Monday at Shekarau’s Mundubawa residence in Kano State.
According to Tari Oliver Blog, Atiku traveled to Kano for three days with his running mate, Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the PDP national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, and other party leaders in expectation of Shekarau’s rejoining the PDP before the 2023 elections.
Following a disagreement with NNPP leader and presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso, Shekarau and many of his admirers and supporters deserted.
The PDP membership card was also given to the former governor of Kano at the ceremony on Monday, which was also attended by PDP National Leaders.
