The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has formally kicked off the Atiku/Okowa 2023 presidential campaign with a rally held in Owerri, the Imo State Capital, on Monday 16th January, 2023. The event, which was attended by a mammoth crowd of party’s faithful’s, top party leaders and members of the National Assembly, saw the PDP reaffirm its commitment to delivering good governance and development to Nigerians
While addressing the crowd, PDP National Chairman, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu, said, “The PDP’s campaign is focused on Atiku’s experience and track record as a successful businessman and former vice president.” The party is also highlighting Okowa’s experience as a governor and senator. The PDP is confident that its candidates will win the election and bring prosperity to Nigeria”.

He said the PDP would win back all the states it lost to the APC in 2015 and 2019, and also take over some states currently controlled by the opposition party.
Ayu said the PDP was confident of victory in 2023 because it had learned from its mistakes and was now a better and stronger party. He said the party was also counting on the support of Nigerians who were disappointed with the APC’s performance over the last four years.
