Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Presidential Aspirant under the PDP has made another social media post on his stand about the killing of Deborah Samuel, a Christian female student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto State.

News reports had on Thursday showed that Atiku via his social media pages, condemned the stoning to death and burning of Deborah by her Muslim colleagues in the school over an alleged insult to Islam’s prophet Muhammad.

Atiku’s post on his social media pages earlier read thus: “There can not be a justification for such gruesome murder. “Deborah Yakubu was murdered, and all those behind her death must be brought to justice. My condolences to her family and friends.”

However, after a series of trolls and threats on his presidential ambition by Islam fanatics, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, quickly deleted his posts which condemned Deborah’s killing.

The Adamawa State-born politician, in a short while, returned to his Hausa Facebook page to deny making the post himself. Atiku said the viral posts earlier on his pages were posted without his consent, stating that any post that does not come with AA is not from him and should be ignored.

This comment dissociating himself from his earlier statement condemning the gruesome killing of Deborah by Islamic fundamentalists has generated another series of backlash as some believe he is not worthy to rule the country since he cannot stand by his word.

Some wondered if his leadership was meant to be for Nigeria or a particular religion.
