Mrs. Tari Oliver, the Deputy Director-General (DDG) and National Coordinator of South-South Zone C of the Women’s Presidential Campaign Council of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), recently organized a medical outreach and community sensitization program in honor of His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, in Edo and Delta States. This event was held in preparation for the 2023 elections.
The campaign aims to promote the candidature of H.E Atiku Abubakar, the PDP Presidential candidate, in the upcoming elections while providing healthcare services to residents of the selected communities.
The free medical outreach offers residents access to medical professionals and treatments, including free consultations, medical check-ups, diagnosis, and medication. The medical services cover common ailments such as malaria, hypertension, diabetes, and other health conditions. The outreach campaign also provides free eyeglasses and referrals for more serious medical conditions.
The community sensitization program, on the other hand, is aimed at educating voters about the importance of the forthcoming elections and the need to vote for H.E. Atiku Abubakar. The DDG and her team are meeting with community leaders, youth groups, and other relevant stakeholders to discuss the manifestos and development plans of the PDP candidate.
The community sensitization program also emphasizes the need for peaceful and violence-free elections. The DDG stressed the importance of peaceful conduct during the electoral process, noting that violence and chaos could derail the democratic process and lead to loss of lives and property.
In her remarks, Mrs. Tari Oliver emphasized the importance of good health and the need for people to take responsibility for their health. She also reiterated the need for the people to vote for credible candidates who have the interest of the people at heart and are capable of delivering on their campaign promises.
Furthermore, Mrs. Oliver expressed her confidence in the candidacy of His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, in the upcoming elections, stating that he is a man of integrity, with a clear vision and mission for the country. She urged the people to support his candidacy and vote wisely in the upcoming elections.
According to her, ‘His Excellency Atiku Abubakar has promised that under his watch there will be a complete revamp of the health sector through various interventions some of which are
1) Provide special scholarships and student loans to all medical students.
2) Promote preventive measures to improve lives and reduce the cost of curative care.
3) Provide adequate remuneration for health care workers.
4) Keep upscaling
Regularize and upgrade alternative health care services.
5) Improve existing infrastructure and remuneration
6) Provide up-to-date equipment to meet international standards
7)Offer competitive wages for healthcare workers.
8) Expand Health training structures at all levels to include private partnerships.
9)Improve work conditions and safety.
10) Enforce regular training and retraining of medical workers to meet international standards.
11) Guarantee a Functional Primary Care System
Revitalize and equip the primary health care centers
12) Implement Health insurance and free medical care for some categories
13) Prioritize lower levels of care to improve the quality of life
Provide digital healthcare Services and lots more.
