Tinubu: Peter Okoye Sends Message To ‘Obidients’ Over Plans Of Massive Protest

Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye of P-Square music band, has sent a message to the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and members of the ‘Obidient’ movement, after their unexpected defeat in the 2023 presidential election.

We report that Peter Obi came third in results read out by the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Mahmood Yakubu on Wednesday morning.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Tinubu polled a total of 8,794,726 to defeat candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar and LP who scored 6,984, 520, and 6,101,533 respectively.

However, since the announcement of the results, many Nigerians have expressed anger over INEC’s failure to use the BVAS and transmit results from the polling units to its portal.

Also, there are rumors of plans for a massive protest across the country over claims that Peter Obi’s mandate was stolen as many electorates believe the results from INEC are different from what happened at the polling units across the country.

Peter Okoye, a staunch supporter of the former governor of Anambra State in a message shared via his Twitter handle on Wednesday, called for calm among supporters, urging them to give room for peace.

He also encouraged Peter Obi, saying his mandate can only be delayed and cannot be denied.

The singer wrote: “Dear H.E @PeterObi your mandate can only be delayed, but cannot be denied.

“Please, my fellow obedient, be calm, we live to fight another day, so please embrace peace.

“Let’s all allow the right people of the law to handle the case. Thank you Nigerians.”
